LAUNCHING WEST VILLAGE, A DYNAMIC CO-WORKING HUB IN LEEDS

THE BRIEF

In July 2024, we were given the exciting task of bringing Bruntwood SciTech’s West Village launch to life—a new co-working space in Leeds that’s all about collaboration, creativity, and community. Our mission? To create an engaging event that would showcase West Village as a vibrant hub for collaboration and creativity, while giving VIPs and key clients a sneak peek at all of the venue’s standout features.

The event was to serve as a platform for guests to explore West Village, engage in activities that reflected its spirit, and network with the venue’s management team. With wellness, creativity, and community at the heart of the West Village ethos, we knew we had to create an unforgettable experience that truly captured these values from start to finish.

THE RESULTS

The launch, which took place at the end of September, was a dynamic all-day event, running from 11am to 10pm. We started the day by focusing on wellness, inviting guests to join a Pilates session led by FORM in the venue’s dedicated wellness studio. Following the class, a lively Q&A with the founders sparked conversations about balancing work and wellbeing—setting a positive tone for the day. As guests left, they were gifted ginger shots, giving everyone a taste of how West Village promotes a holistic work-life vibe.

Next up was a creative coffee art competition hosted by local brand Second City Coffee. Guests gathered to test their latte art skills while mingling and enjoying the competition – because who doesn’t love a bit of caffeine-fuelled fun?

As lunchtime approached, a variety of local food trucks began serving outside, highlighting the best of Leeds’ independent culinary scene. In the afternoon, we shifted the focus with a keynote session hosted by PEXA, held in the atrium. The conversation centred on women in tech, leadership, and driving innovation, reinforcing West Village’s position as a forward-thinking space dedicated to fostering cutting-edge ideas.

As evening fell, the atmosphere transformed with live entertainment from a roaming band, leading up to the highly anticipated ribbon-cutting ceremony. Bruntwood SciTech’s CEO, Ciara Keeling, officially inaugurated the new co-working hub. The celebratory mood continued into the night, with a DJ set creating a vibrant soundtrack as guests explored the venue, enjoyed food and drinks, and experienced everything West Village had to offer.

Overall, the launch of West Village Leeds exceeded expectations, delivering a dynamic and immersive introduction to this new co-working destination. With wellness, creativity, and innovation seamlessly integrated into the event, the day captured the essence of West Village and established it as a fresh and exciting addition to Leeds’ co-working landscape.

Feedback from both the Bruntwood SciTech team and external stakeholders was incredibly positive, with key contacts and those who had provided funding for the project complementing the event, buzz on the day and teams involved.
